Faculty:
Susan Lee Klonne, OTR/L
This is an introductory level workshop designed to further the skills of clinicians
with state of the art information based on years of clinical practice and research.
This course is set apart from all others by its evidenced based approach to modalities
in conjunction with the instructors multi-careered perspective and clinical expertise
garnered from years of practice and research.
This seminar is designed for OTs, PTs, Assistants and Athletic Trainers to enhance their understanding of commonly used electrical modalities and their applications for a variety of clinical conditions. This lab intensive workshop is designed with the attendee in mind so that each participant has ample time, assistance and equipment availability. Lecture will address the theoretical basis and efficacy of each modality, physical properties (parameters) of the devices, the body's physiological response to electrical stimulation, indications and contraindications, and application techniques. Case scenarios, demonstrations, and significant amounts of lab time following each modality's presentation will allow the participants to integrate the information for use with patients upon return to the clinic.
