Kim R. Townsend, OTR/L, CHT, M.S.
is a private practice hand therapist at the Raleigh Hand Center in Raleigh, NC. Mrs. Townsend brings with her 25 years of experience in the treatment of orthopedic and upper extremity conditions. She earned her MS Degree in Occupational Therapy in 1981 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Certification in Hand Therapy in 1992.

Throughout her career she has developed and presented hundreds of seminars and workshops across the United States in the areas of hand therapy protocols, evaluation techniques, the use of modalities and static/dynamic splinting. She has held adjunct faculty positions in the division of Occupational Science at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Durham Technical Community College. Additionally, she has completed the development of a series of splinting workshops to be used to educate therapists throughout Europe.
